Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Time Director of Business Operations to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating Cartt's strategic planning, key commercial relationships, and will be the point person for contractual negotiations and administrative support for the channels, production, sales and marketing units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Provide counsel and advice to the CEO for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Commercial Relationships: Work with the CEO to identify and execute new platform launch opportunities.
  • Contractual Negotiations: Drive the optimization and monetization of Cartt channels.
  • Administrative Support: Prepare and review contracts.
  • Performance Assessments: Prepare regular assessments of platform performance.
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with platforms, ad-serving and ad demand partners and vendors.
  • Data Analytics: Leverage data analytics to inform strategy.
  • Direct Sales: Manage a third-party direct sales relationship.
  • Channel Operations: Oversee channel operations, scheduling and marketing departments to ensure timely platform launches, troubleshoot technical issues and marketing content creation.
  • Finance and Production: Collaborate with Finance and Production to implement and administer all tax credit applications, insurance and banking requirements for production.
  • HR Management: Manage HR, including staffing and contracts, budgeting, training and development.
  • Corporate Communications: Oversee corporate communications and B2B activity.
  • Event Management: Negotiate and oversee Cartt's presence at events and trade shows, and seek/evaluate sponsorship opportunities.

Requirements

  • Business Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of business affairs/operations experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Media experience is an asset, leadership experience is a must.
  • Business Judgment: Demonstrated ability to be effective and to exercise influence, legal and business judgment in challenging situations.
  • Canadian Tax Credit System: A working knowledge of the Canadian tax credit system.
  • Independent and Proactive: Independent and proactive.
  • Communication Skills: Natural communication skills and ability to adapt quickly.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Canadian Citizenship: Must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident.
  • Passion for Food: A passionate advocate with a love for food.
  • Streaming/FAST Ecosystem: Priority consideration will be given to individuals who are currently working in the streaming/FAST ecosystem, however, we recognize this is an evolving technology and candidates may not have direct experience.
