About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Memorial Cafe. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
    • Portion and wrap foods for serving.
    • Package take-out food for customers.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Keep records of the quantities of food used.
  • Customer Service
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
    • Take customers' orders.
  • General Kitchen Duties
    • Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and set tables.
    • Carrying and replace linen.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
    • Sharpen kitchen knives.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.
    Work Environment

As a Kitchen Helper at Memorial Cafe, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity. You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work under pressure.
