About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Jagir Contracting Inc. as a Construction and Renovation Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction and renovation of residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-construction and planning: Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Construction and installation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Finishing work: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Site management: Survey building locations and levels, estimate costs and materials, and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Requirements
  • Education and experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry and construction, with a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Physical demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
  • Personal qualities: Excellent oral communication skills, efficient interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of reliability and teamwork.
