Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging courses and labs within Environmental Technician and Forestry Technician – Ecosystem Management programs.
  • Create a dynamic learning experience for students in both traditional classroom settings and online environments, ensuring clear communication of curriculum expectations, academic progress, and evaluation methods.
  • Utilize diverse teaching strategies to cater to various learning styles and effectively leverage available resources.
  • Assess student performance through a variety of evaluative tools and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of our programs, ensuring they remain relevant and aligned with industry needs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, assisting them with course selection, career exploration, and educational pathways.

Qualifications:

  • A postsecondary qualification (degree preferred) in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science, Forestry, or Natural Resources Management.
  • Demonstrated expertise and progressive experience in the field of Natural Resources.
  • Strong teaching skills with experience in both traditional and online learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuit communities within our catchment area.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching diverse student populations.
