Radiological Technologist, Interventional Angiography Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Technologist, Interventional Angiography to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing interventional and angiography procedures, diagnostic radiographic examinations, and other related duties.
Key Responsibilities- Perform interventional and angiography procedures in accordance with established procedures, including completing requisitions and related paperwork, entering patient information into the radiology information system, and operating radiographic and computerized imaging equipment.
- Assist Radiologists during body and neuroangiography procedures and Interventional cases, such as percutaneous nephrolithotripsy and radiofrequency ablations.
- Monitor patients during procedures, observing and responding to possible contrast media reactions or other emergent situations, and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
- Image studies using radiography equipment and departmental information systems, checking to ensure applicable patient identification, collating images with requisitions, and requesting previous studies.
- Facilitate the workflow of designated work areas, checking information on requisitions, regulating inpatient examination time, and arranging departmental and/or facility porters.
- Perform quality control duties, scheduling and performing equipment tests, recording results, and identifying malfunctioning equipment for repair.
- Participate in the departmental Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs, using established monitoring and auditing methodologies to perform quality assurance checks.
- Maintain designated work areas, checking and cleaning equipment, setting up examination trays, using aseptic technique, receiving and stocking supplies, and identifying depleted items.
- Demonstrate procedures and usage of equipment to staff, including medical residents, technologists, and students, and participate in orientation of new employees.
- Participate in maintaining patient and hospital records, entering data into the radiology and hospital information system as required.
- Respond to inquiries from other clinical areas regarding patient examinations and schedules, and refer other concerns to appropriate supervisors as needed.
- Determine workload measurements and compile workload statistical reports and other reports, as required, and make recommendations to the Director on how services may be improved.
- Ensure that the department meets Health and Safety rules, regulations, and practices, including Fire, Disaster, WHMIS, Smart Moves, and Infection Control, by updating department staff on changes to safety procedures and following up on safety recommendations.
- Participate in approved research and special projects in collaboration with supervisors and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain equipment by monitoring its operation and making arrangements for maintenance and repairs as required.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements, immediately reporting unsafe situations to supervisors or other appropriate personnel.
We are looking for a certified Radiological Technologist with a minimum of two years' recent, related experience in interventional radiography or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for general radiology, angiography, and interventional procedures, as well as aseptic techniques and evidence-based practice related to designated modality.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work independently and in collaboration with others, plan and establish workload priorities, and teach, demonstrate, facilitate, coach, and mentor staff. Additionally, the candidate will have physical ability to perform the duties of the position and knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.
