Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with additional on-call hours as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize approved techniques to support maintenance operations throughout the facility, which may include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain the water distribution system, including all associated valves and insulation.
  • Install, maintain, and repair pipe assemblies and plumbing fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and faucets.
  • Oversee sewer systems (sanitary, storm, vents, roof drains, and stacks).
  • Service, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on designated equipment in accordance with standard practices and departmental policies.
  • Assess installation requirements by reviewing blueprints and work sketches.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and/or roofs or remote installations as necessary.
  • Employ a variety of tools and equipment, including power construction machinery, measuring devices, and both power and hand tools.
  • Assist with annual inspections, servicing, and installation of backflow prevention devices.
  • Act as a backup for HVAC technicians.
  • Document work orders and generate necessary technical service reports.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for new or repair work.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, organizational policies, and safety protocols.
  • Communicate with plumbing inspectors and other regulatory officials.
  • Exercise sound judgment in making decisions that affect operational and departmental costs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed plumber in Ontario, with comprehensive knowledge of water distribution systems, plumbing fixtures, and sewer systems.
  • Familiarity with provincial plumbing codes and local regulations.
  • Strong numerical and spatial reasoning skills.
  • Technical proficiency in working with Automated Building Control systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated good work and attendance record.
  • Commitment to adhering to health and safety policies.
