We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Planner to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. as a key member of our Global Health Sector. As a Senior Medical Planner, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of major healthcare projects, working closely with architectural and engineering leaders across North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead the design and delivery of major healthcare projects, ranging from 80,000 sqft to 800,000 sqft in typical project size.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface regularly with architectural and engineering leaders across North America to thrive and contribute within the integrated design practice.
  • Local Leadership: Serve as a local leader to inspire our team, represent healthcare design, and reinforce the global brand of Stantec.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with technical and managerial project leads to achieve key operational performance metrics, including traditional financial metrics and demonstrating improved health outcomes for the projects we deliver.
  • Industry Relationships: Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, and potential recruits.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to the thought leadership and brand of Stantec by sharing knowledge and innovation stories at key client engagements, industry events, and across professional networks.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach next-generation designers and thought leaders, as well as receive mentoring and coaching from our established team of designers and thought leaders.
Qualifications
  • Medical Planning Experience: Recent medical planning experience in healthcare with interest in specialty focus, along with appreciation for any or all of the following markets: Acute Care, Outpatient Care, Women's Health, Behavioral Health/Mental Health, Cancer/Proton Therapy, Long Term Care, and Seniors Living project(s).
  • Project Delivery Innovations: Acumen related to project delivery innovations in IPD, APD, Modular approaches, and related advancements.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to work with project teams across a range of healthcare project types and scales, with proven ability to balance a book of business in this regard.
  • Technical Understanding: Technical understanding of medical planning for health facilities, with direct design experience in master planning, visioning, functional programming, varying clinical delivery models, flow diagrams, departmental design, and equipment planning requirements.
  • Business Development: Experience with strategic pre-positioning for pursuits, inclusive of engagement strategies, responding to Expression of Interests, Statements of Qualifications, Requests for Proposals, formal interviews, and professional fee and contract negotiations.
  • Communication and Organization: Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building, and team engagement talent.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
  • Credentials: Licensed and credentialed Architect or Interior Designer is preferred.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in healthcare planning and design.
