Journeyman/Woman Carpenter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman/Woman Carpenter to join our team at Wright Construction Services Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Instructing apprentices and ensuring they meet the required standards.
Certifications and Training:
  • Working at Heights Training.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
Requirements:
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
  • Work setting: Construction and Commercial.
  • Transportation: Own transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal suitability: Client focus, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics.
