Job Summary

CC Pace is seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Database Operations group, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing our databases in the AWS Cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Server Management: Install, upgrade, and manage database servers and schemas to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Enterprise Database Standards: Set and maintain enterprise database standards to ensure consistency and best practices.
  • Database Security: Manage database access and develop processes for optimizing database security to protect sensitive data.
  • Performance Tuning: Performance tune database systems, particularly RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Database Backups and Recovery: Create database backups and restore databases from backups to ensure business continuity.
  • Capacity Planning: Plan capacity for database servers and diagnose and troubleshoot database errors to ensure optimal performance.
  • Database Reporting and Visualization: Create database reports, visualizations, and dashboards to provide insights and support business decisions.
  • PL/SQL Development: Write complex PL/SQL and understand complex queries to optimize database performance and efficiency.
  • Automation and On-Call Support: Automate repeating database tasks and be available for on-call support to ensure prompt resolution of critical issues.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Databases: Experience with AWS Cloud databases, including MSSQL, Aurora/RDS PostgreSQL, and MySQL, to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Database Incident Management: Monitor database incidents queue and act based on priority to ensure prompt resolution of critical issues.
  • Database Change Management: Implement and deploy database changes in Prod and QA environments to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Database Performance Monitoring: Monitor MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL database performance issues and resolve them to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interact with other DBA team members, product support team, and DevOps CSM to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Database Security and Compliance: Manage, maintain, and secure RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MSSQL databases to ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • PL/SQL Script Review: Understand the PL SQL scripts provided in the change and be able to make a call if scripts are not well performant or not correct.
  • SSRS Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve SSRS issues to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide database level technical leadership and mentor junior DBAs to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
Job Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 12+ years of IT industry experience.
  • Database Administration Experience: 10+ experience in database administration roles in MSSQL, MySQL, and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
  • Operating System Experience: Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Database Technologies: Extensive experience with database technologies, including MySQL, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • AWS Cloud Services: Experience with AWS cloud services, including RDS, IAM, EC2, VPC, and Storage.
  • Cloud Database Infrastructure Management: Experience with cloud database infrastructure management and administration.
  • HA/DR Experience: Extensive experience in HA/DR in major enterprise database systems.
  • SQL Server Reporting Services: Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good verbal communication and writing skills.
  • AWS Certification: Preferred AWS certified professional who has experience in RDS, IAM, EC2, VPC, and Storage.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Experience in troubleshooting performance issues from infrastructure and database engine.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Experience working with clients and other department leads within the organization.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert in writing PL/SQL and PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization.
Competencies
