Position Overview

As a Merchandiser at SUNFOOD MARKET INC., you will play a crucial role in the management and presentation of our product offerings. Your expertise will ensure that our merchandise is effectively displayed and readily available to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Arrangement: Organize merchandise according to established planograms to enhance customer experience.
  • Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain strong connections with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient stock replenishment.
  • Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock and prevent shortages.
  • Negotiation: Engage in discussions with suppliers regarding pricing, discounts, and transportation logistics.
  • Distribution Oversight: Supervise the distribution of products to various retail outlets.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Merchandise Selection: Analyze establishment requirements to determine the appropriate quantity and type of products to purchase.
  • Trade Show Visits: Attend trade shows and product design events to stay updated on market trends.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee the work of 1 to 2 junior buyers, ensuring effective collaboration and productivity.

Technical Skills

Proficient in various software applications including:

  • Spreadsheet software
  • MS Access
  • MS Excel
  • MS Outlook
  • MS PowerPoint
  • MS Word
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a related field.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Panjabi or Punjabi is an asset.

This position is set in a fast-paced retail environment with tight deadlines and requires attention to detail. The role involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
