Job Summary

The Liberty Utilities Energy Services team is responsible for maximizing the company's risk-adjusted asset return by providing portfolio management and market advisory services. The team consists of three pillars: Portfolio Management, Client & Asset Support, and Market Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement efficient data pipelines for market, transactional, and generation data.
  2. Transform raw data into a format usable by downstream applications, serving both analytical and operational use cases.
  3. Organize, implement, and enforce correct data collection policies and methods.
  4. Ensure the proper functioning of data collection software and applications at all times.
  5. Gather fundamental power market, transactional, and generation data from multiple sources/systems and implement in a database seamlessly.
  6. Create and integrate APIs.
  7. Responsible for data wrangling, extraction, data security, discovery, and control.
  8. Demonstrate best practices in data science and software development.
  9. Collaborate with and across teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.
  10. Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members.
  11. Support the development of short, medium, and long-term energy marketing analytical tools.
  12. Support the development and automation of standardized reports.
  13. Ensure output of data is accurate and in a useful format for end-use customers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a data engineer or data analyst role.
  • Ability to quickly understand and conceptualize business requirements.
  • Advanced programming knowledge.
  • Experience with Snowflake infrastructure and advanced skills in Python and Excel.
  • Strong data structure, data modeling, and analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of Power Market Fundamentals.
