Job Title: Supply Early Childhood Educator

Reporting to the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day early learning program supporting the faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting. This role requires supervision and age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students as part of the extended day program as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement a full day early learning program supporting faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting.
  • Partner with the classroom teacher to develop and implement curriculum.
  • Supervise and provide age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students.
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and the public in a sensitive and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
  • Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • One to three years of childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation.
  • Knowledge of ALCDSB related policies and administration procedures.

Please note that this is a supply position, and the successful candidate will be required to work on an on-call basis replacing absent staff. Full-time and part-time temporary opportunities are often available and offered to supply staff. Supply staff are considered before external applicants when applying for permanent positions with the board.
