Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Supply Designated Early Childhood Educator. This is a temporary, on-call position that will provide support to our classrooms and extended day programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with classroom teachers to plan and implement a full-day early learning program that aligns with Catholic values and initiatives.
  • Provide supervision and age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students as part of the extended day program.
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other staff members to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents, staff, and the community to promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs that promote the spiritual, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of students.
Requirements
  • Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • One to three years of experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education's full-day early learning program and related legislation.
  • Knowledge of ALCDSB policies and administration procedures.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful, and emergency situations.
  • Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate Catholic programs.
  • Basic computer skills and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Catholic Pastoral Reference or Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate with a Letter of Faith.
  • Experience working in a Catholic school setting.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Catholic School Board's policies and procedures.
