About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during various invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures by applying electrodes and shaving prep as necessary.
  • Equipment Setup and Calibration: Set up, calibrate, and maintain various equipment, including physiological data monitoring systems, ACT machines, FICK machines, and defibrillators.
  • Procedure Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and analyze patients' ECG and hemodynamics during procedures, conveying vital information to physicians in real-time.
  • Report Generation and Maintenance: Enter data and generate reports, including analysis of recorded hemodynamics, ejection fraction, coronary disease, resistances, and valve gradient and area calculations.
  • Supply Management and Patient Preparation: Assist in pulling supplies for cases, setting up procedural trays using sterile technique, and prepping patients as required.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in defibrillating, external pacing, and cardioversion as directed by physicians, and provide CPR as necessary.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Cardiology Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT) and/or CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) credential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
