The Role

We are an established and fast-growing family office, managing a diversified portfolio of investments, including wholly owned operational companies in manufacturing, technology, real estate, private equity, and venture capital. Our primary focus is on generating sustainable long-term returns while also making a positive impact on society.

As the Chief Financial Officer, Family Office, you will report to and be a key strategic partner to the family office Principal and the executive team. The primary function in your role will be to build a world-class finance function that provides a high level of actionable financial reporting, budgeting, and cash forecasting that aligns with the company's growth plans.

Your leadership of the finance/accounting function will be strategic and hands-on where you will have the ability to communicate data & ideas succinctly yet have the background of the details where needed. You will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, and building, mentoring, and scaling the team as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and lead international and domestic finance direct reports, ensuring all documentation, deadlines, and KPIs are met.
  • Manage the implementation and ongoing compliance of a sophisticated multi-company and country corporate structure.
  • Oversight and team management for global full-cycle accounting and reporting.
  • Build and implement a seamless integration of a global banking infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance and leadership over key projects and initiatives.
  • Optimize the corporate ERP system and own the implementation of new modules.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting across multiple business unit entities.
  • Lead, create, and manage cross-functional budgeting and budget to actual process.
  • Tax planning and corporate structuring for international business operations.
  • Build and own corporate financial model and financial planning and analysis.
  • Facilitate and lead annual financial statement audits.
  • Provide leadership and manage the objectives, goals, and development of the Finance team.
Requirements
  • MBA or similar degree in accounting or finance; CPA/CA designation required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as head of finance (VP Finance / CFO) in a growing organization.
  • 5 years experience operating accounting in complex structures with a minimum of 40 entities globally.
  • Proven expertise with construction and land development projects.
  • Global accounting and tax experience with operations in at least 4 countries.
  • Experience in working with corporate financial modeling and investment analysis.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced, rapid-change environments.
  • Track record of working with sales and marketing to create profitable growth strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly regulated industries, including beverage/cannabis/pharmaceutical.
  • Real Estate or land development experience/construction.
  • Establishing and managing international business units.
  • Raising capital and leading companies through that process.
  • Experience with PCAOB audits and IPO processes.
