As a key member of the Quality and Risk Management team, the Enterprise Risk Manager will be instrumental in enhancing risk management practices and ensuring patient safety across the organization. This role is tasked with the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks while fostering a culture of risk awareness and management competency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the implementation of the corporate risk management framework, focusing on the identification and prioritization of risks across both clinical and non-clinical domains.
  2. Formulate and execute both proactive and reactive strategies to address risks at all organizational levels.
  3. Coordinate training and mentorship programs to enhance staff capabilities in risk identification and mitigation.
  4. Offer expert guidance on risk management protocols, contractual obligations, and insurance requirements to various stakeholders.
  5. Facilitate investigations into incidents, develop preventive action plans, and ensure their execution throughout the organization.
  6. Oversee all legal matters and insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  7. Assess the effectiveness of risk management initiatives and insurance coverage, providing recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  8. Stay informed on legislative requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices related to risk management and insurance.
  9. Act as the primary contact for corporate risk management and client safety, liaising with external entities.
  10. Prepare comprehensive reports on risk-related issues for the Director of Quality and Risk Management and other relevant parties.
  11. Maintain and update Corporate Emergency Plans, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  12. Develop and implement processes for emergency response education, simulations, and audits to ensure organizational preparedness.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned within the Quality and Risk Management framework.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience, preferably in risk management or a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in healthcare risk management, along with knowledge of insurance and contract management, is preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical research.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a complex care environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all staff and patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in risk management is an asset.
  • 3-4 years of experience in healthcare risk management with additional experience in insurance and contract management is preferred.
