Position Overview

The Client Transportation Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting individuals by providing safe and reliable transportation services. This position is essential for ensuring that clients reach their designated locations comfortably and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport clients in an accessible vehicle according to the established schedule.
  • Complete all required certifications and documentation as directed.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure optimal safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle log sheets on a regular basis.
  • Assist clients with their personal belongings, ensuring safe handling and transportation.
  • Uphold confidentiality and protect personal information in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and driving agreements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure effective service delivery.

Relationships:

Engage regularly with clients to understand and meet their transportation needs effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities.
  • Proficient in using vehicle restraint systems and handling mobility equipment.

Skills:

  • Competent in operating accessible equipment such as wheelchairs and mechanical lifts.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and reliable.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 35 pounds using proper techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety.
  • Physically active and able to engage in necessary physical tasks.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in French, are advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's permit and a clean driving record, updated annually.
  • Current G class driver's license.
  • Proof of insurance coverage for personal vehicle use.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required prior to employment.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check is mandatory.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.

Work Environment:

The role requires attention to detail and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
