Job Title: Construction Estimator

MNG Builders Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) and other software systems to analyze project data
  • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures to ensure accurate estimates
  • Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards
  • Set up and monitor cost monitoring and reporting systems to track project expenditures
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to communicate changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in construction estimating or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing project requirements
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced estimating environment with a dynamic team. The role requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Hours:

The work hours are 30 hours per week.
