Senior Front-End Engineer

Wattpad is a global entertainment company that aims to entertain and connect the world through stories. We're seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in the development and maintenance of our web applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to bring web features from concept to production
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and responsive front-end code
  • Implement and optimize for front-end performance, including load times, responsiveness, and accessibility
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile development environment
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies
  • Work across functional teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end systems
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience as a Web Engineer, with 2 years in a Senior capacity
  • Extensive experience with React and Node.js on large-scale applications and knowledge of how to navigate a complex code base
  • Experience working with Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and leveraging modern SSR concepts to enhance performance and optimize user experience
  • Experience with front-end performance optimization, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Passion for writing clean, efficient code and collaboration with great teams to deliver the best results
