Parkland School Division is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team at Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. As an Outdoor Education Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with students in a unique kindergarten program that combines outdoor learning with cultural immersion.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging outdoor education programs that promote experiential learning and cultural awareness
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all students
- Work with students to develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning
- Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in outdoor education
- Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching Early Years level and strong background in assessment and differentiation
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and histories, and ability to integrate this knowledge into teaching practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student-centered learning
