Research Scientist

At Intertape Polymer Group (IPG), we are seeking a highly skilled R&D Product Development Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our research and development department, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and supervising complex or unique projects in extrusion coated woven polyolefins.
Key Responsibilities:- Expert knowledge of products, processes, and end users.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with the sales force, manufacturing, and customers to determine market needs and develop high-value new products.
- Work closely with suppliers to exploit innovations in resin and other materials.
- Support all aspects of the product development cycle, from idea to commercialization.
- Ensure compliance with legal and governmental codes and requirements.
- Develop and implement research and development proposals, including objectives, applications, costs, and resource requirements.
- Review and analyze proposals to determine benefits and applications.
- Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects, including record-keeping and progress reporting.
- Interact with suppliers, customers, and corporate personnel to design and implement solutions to problems.
- Support product development from idea to commercialization, including trials and market development.
- Expert problem-solving and statistical skills.
- Science major, chemical engineer, or materials engineer with 5-10 years of industrial experience, preferably in high-performance films or plastics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, results-driven, and conscientious.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
