Job Title: Heavy Truck Mechanic

Tomlinson Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
  • Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
  • Test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of systems, including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine, and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Some field work is required
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school is usually required
  • Hold a 310T Heavy Truck/Coach License, or level 3 apprentice
  • Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel diagnosis and repair
  • Experience with routine/preventative maintenance operations
