About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Director of Software Engineering and Innovation to lead our cloud transformation initiatives at Equifax, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic direction, build strong relationships, and lead teams to deliver best-in-class applications and software delivery projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engineering Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy to drive cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  2. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Product, Data, Operations, and Sales partners, to drive collaboration and innovation.
  3. Product Software Development: Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based applications and software delivery projects.
  4. Leadership and People Management: Mentor, coach, and develop junior and senior software, quality, and reliability engineers, and collaborate with technical leadership to drive strategic technical direction.
  5. Agile Methodologies: Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and other team activities to drive agility and innovation.
  6. Architecture Decision Making: Implement architecture decision-making processes to ensure alignment with product features and stories.
  7. Technical Vision: Develop and communicate a long-term technical vision and roadmap to drive innovation and growth.
  8. Systems Design and Code Review: Oversee systems designs and review product or system development code to ensure quality and security.
  9. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with Equifax's secure software development guidelines and best practices, and drive meeting and maintaining QE, DevSec, and FinOps KPIs.
  10. Running Production: Define, maintain, and report on KPIs to manage delivery and running IT operations, meeting Equifax engineering standards.
  11. Innovation: Drive innovation in areas related to AI, software engineering, and process innovation to stay ahead of the curve.
Requirements
  1. A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of fifteen (15) years of equivalent experience in software engineering.
  2. Expertise in cloud service providers, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure, and knowledge of cloud-native services and infrastructure.
  3. Strong software engineering and delivery skillset, including effort estimation, resource planning, and delivery planning.
  4. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial optimization.
  5. Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures, with experience in microservices architecture, containerization, and serverless computing.
  6. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, and understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles.
  7. Experience with cloud-based data storage solutions, big data technologies, and data processing frameworks.
  8. Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, compliance requirements, and handling of sensitive data (PII, PHI).
  9. Skills in monitoring and optimizing the performance of cloud applications and services, with familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Cloud-native monitoring solutions.
  10. Experience with collaboration and version control tools, such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
  11. Ability to remain abreast of the latest cloud technologies and trends, and apply innovative solutions to complex problems.
  12. Strong leadership and people management skills, including experience managing over one hundred (100) resources, including offshore teams.

  1. Cloud certifications from Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft.
  2. MBA degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  3. Ability to advocate for change, sponsor change initiatives, and research best practices from other organizations for adoption or modification.
  4. Strong ability to build alliances with other departments and business units/centers of excellence.
  5. Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions within broadly defined parameters.
  6. Comprehension of cloud networking concepts, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, and load balancers.
