About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at Coventry City Council. As a key member of our Regulation services, you will be responsible for providing site-based, practical solutions to a variety of building services related customer needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out all work in compliance with industry standards, British standards, and relevant Approved Codes of Practice.
  • Perform planned maintenance and reactive repairs effectively and efficiently within target timescales.
  • Install new heating installations and improvements.
  • Ensure all work issued is completed by the due date and report full details of exceptions, including liaison with customers.
  • Work in a variety of industries, including schools, residential, and commercial.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to comprehend written instructions.
  • Previous work experience in a reactive repair gas/combustion environment.
  • Full UK driving license and recognised qualifications in Domestic and Commercial aspects of the industry.
  • Commercial Gas/Safety qualifications, Unvented hot water experience, and knowledge of water hygiene/Legionella regulations.
What We Offer
  • Up to £43,421 per annum.
  • Stand-by allowance - £30 per shift, 9 shifts per week (2 per day Sat/Sun).
  • Out of hours call out rate - Minimum 2 hours per call at a flat hourly rate, then time and a half for every hour after that (per day).
  • Tool Allowance - £36.37 per month.
  • Van with home-to-work use and fuel card.
