Position Overview:
As a key member of the Content Management, Discovery, and Access (CMDA) Unit, the Term Metadata Management Librarian plays a crucial role in enhancing the academic library services through innovative metadata practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Lead Metadata Projects:** Oversee and execute metadata maintenance initiatives to ensure high-quality access to diverse content.
2. **Troubleshoot Issues:** Address challenges related to electronic collections, authority control, and cataloguing processes.
3. **Support Access:** Facilitate the discovery of a wide array of print and digital resources that foster research and educational excellence.
4. **Workflow Development:** Contribute to the design and implementation of metadata standards and best practices.
5. **Metadata Crosswalks:** Assist in the development and application of metadata crosswalks and data conversion routines.
6. **Stay Informed:** Maintain awareness of national and international trends in cataloguing and metadata standards.
7. **Collaborative Projects:** Work alongside colleagues across the library to provide metadata expertise.

Qualifications:
- A Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or a PhD in library and information science.
- Proficient knowledge of AACR2, RDA, LCSH, MESH, NLM, and LC classifications, as well as MARC formats and metadata schema.
- Understanding of controlled vocabularies and their impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to engage with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, and students, both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills for effective project planning and organization.
- Experience with information resource management tools and discovery systems, particularly Ex Libris Alma and Primo VE.
- Familiarity with programming languages and data manipulation tools, such as Ruby, Python, XSLT, and OpenRefine.
