Position Overview

We are seeking a Professional Hair Stylist to provide exceptional hair care services in a vibrant salon environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hairstyling and a commitment to client satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in hairstyling.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hairstyling role is considered an asset.
Work Environment

This position is based in a bustling barbershop or hairstyling studio, where creativity and client interaction are key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hair cutting and trimming according to clients' specifications.
  • Shampoo and condition clients' hair to prepare for styling.
  • Shave and groom beards and mustaches as requested.
  • Apply various hair color treatments, including bleach, tints, and dyes.
  • Style hair using techniques such as curling, waving, and perming.
  • Advise clients on hairstyles that complement their features and preferences.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Hairstylist Trade Certification is required.
  • Valid Hairstylist License is necessary.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in blow drying and hair braiding techniques.
  • Skilled in using curling irons and performing permanent waves.
Transportation Requirements

Must have reliable transportation to commute to the workplace.

Physical and Personal Attributes
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Dependable and flexible with a focus on client service.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive compensation structure, including commission and gratuities. The work term is permanent, with an expected workload of 30 to 40 hours per week.
