Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Welder 2 to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding pressure piping and vessel systems used on our gas transmission and distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and spool sheets to lay out and fabricate components
  • Perform welding operations using manual arc, gas metal arc, or oxy-fuel welding
  • Pressure test completed assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure weld and joint integrity
  • Fabricate non-pressure components and install pressure controlling devices
  • Weld in the field on transmission and distribution systems within the scope of your certificate of competency

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Welder Certificate of Qualification from the Industry Training Authority of BC (or equivalent)
  • 5 years' experience welding pressure piping systems or pipeline welding
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driving License
  • Safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices
  • Ability to perform all operations in the shop and in the field
