Position Overview:
The Centre de services scolaire de Sorel-Tracy is seeking a dedicated individual to assume the role of Librarian. In this capacity, you will oversee the development, assessment, organization, classification, preservation, and management of library collections, ensuring that resources are readily available for both students and staff. Your role will also involve providing guidance and support to enhance the utilization of library resources within educational initiatives. Additionally, you will facilitate activities centered around children's literature.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the enhancement of information collections across diverse formats;
- Assist in the formulation of policies and execute a strategic development plan;
- Assess collections in alignment with educational objectives and programs;
- Identify needs, select materials, or recommend acquisitions;
- Collaborate with educators to integrate resources into the curriculum and organize reading promotion events;
- Offer advice on resource utilization and procurement;
- Coordinate interdisciplinary activities with various stakeholders;
- Create an enriching educational atmosphere to foster student knowledge and personal growth;
- Guide educators on information research to assist students;
- Encourage the use of digital resources and assist users in their application;
- Provide training for library users and staff;
- Design and conduct workshops on reading and information research;
- Develop promotional tools and documents to enhance resource utilization;
- Contribute to the library's layout to ensure compliance with standards;
- Manage document processing while maintaining classification, cataloging, indexing, and weeding in accordance with library protocols.
Qualifications Required:
A Master's degree in Information Science or Library Science is essential.

Employment Status: Full-time permanent position
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Educational Services
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday
Compensation: Salary range from $53,054 to $90,950 annually
