About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of structural engineering solutions for industrial and mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cost-effective structural engineering designs that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Perform analysis and design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate existing structures and provide recommendations for modifications and additions.
  • Prepare specifications, design criteria, and scope of work for structural engineering projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in structural engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry. You will also need to have a bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university, and be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in structural engineering design software, including STAAD Pro, MathCad, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Smart Plant would be an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
