Job Overview

As a vital member of our logistics team, your primary responsibilities will encompass the preparation, packaging, and dispatch of customer orders. You will also be involved in the counting, verification, receipt, and storage of products from suppliers, as well as managing returns from customers. A keen eye for detail is essential to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, with the anticipated retirement of our warehouse manager, there may be opportunities for career advancement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all health and safety regulations while performing job duties
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, operating forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment
  • Receiving duties include: Unloading shipments from suppliers or returns from customers, verifying packaging slips against received products, documenting any discrepancies or damages, printing and confirming receipt documents, and entering received items into the inventory system. You will also identify special orders and damaged items, ensuring they are stored correctly and discrepancies are noted on the carrier's bill of lading, initiating claims as necessary.
  • Preparation, packaging, and shipping responsibilities involve: Assembling products for customer orders, ensuring accuracy against shipping documents, packaging items appropriately for customer pickup or shipment, and completing necessary documentation for third-party carrier deliveries or hazardous goods transportation.
  • Reporting any stock discrepancies, damaged, or defective items that could impact customer service quality to the supervisor
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety by disposing of empty boxes, metal straps, pallets, and other waste materials
  • Reporting any security concerns within the warehouse to the warehouse manager or Profit Center director
  • Assisting colleagues in providing customer service at the counter
  • Performing any additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Center director

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma is preferred
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to gain comprehensive product knowledge
  • Willingness to learn safe operation of forklifts and other handling equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order processing
  • Capability to learn and utilize relevant software systems for order management
  • Basic mathematical skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience or familiarity with plumbing and construction products sold in the Profit Center
