POSITION OVERVIEW
The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional service delivery to Canadian Linen's clientele through effective order fulfillment. This position is responsible for overseeing safety, productivity, accuracy, employee turnover, and training within the department, all while maintaining profitability. The Production Supervisor aims to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce costs by effectively managing a well-trained and scheduled workforce to meet the varying demands throughout the business cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate daily departmental activities, adjusting assignments and workflows as needed to meet production targets.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels, conduct employee evaluations, maintain personnel records, and recommend hiring or disciplinary actions as required.
- Address personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating concerns, identifying solutions, and proposing actions.
- Regularly assess employee performance.
- Evaluate the performance of new hires based on their learning progress.
- Monitor adherence to production protocols through both formal and informal observations.
- Understand and manage departmental costs effectively.
- Collaborate with other distribution departments to coordinate work requirements.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports on quality, productivity, and other relevant metrics.
- Ensure safety and security within the department, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Provide training and development opportunities, including cross-training employees on relevant operational methods.
- Foster talent development through special projects and additional responsibilities.
- Update and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all departmental operations.
- Work towards achieving both departmental and personal objectives established in collaboration with department managers.
- Cultivate an environment characterized by trust, open communication, innovative thinking, and teamwork.
- Lead by example, ensuring behavior aligns with expectations.
- Promote a culture of adherence to branch standardization in support of financial, service, and safety objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the general manager or department manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to instruct and teach others.
- Timely completion of work and ability to meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude in the workplace.
- Commitment to confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and hours with prior notice.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic math reasoning skills.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull up to 300 pounds with assistance.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, noisy work environment while ensuring safety.
- Proven ability to supervise staff and maintain positive employee relations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply procedural, maintenance, and policy information.
- Strong problem-solving skills in technical, operational, and employee-related matters.
- Demonstrated record of reliable attendance.
- Proficiency in the primary language used by the distribution, warehouse, and production teams.
Compensation: The anticipated salary for this position is approximately $50,000, subject to factors such as the applicant's skills, qualifications, relevant degrees and certifications, prior experience, market data, and other pertinent elements. Additional compensation may include a performance-based bonus.
