Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Health PEI. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing a variety of standard examinations and procedures in hematology, histology, chemistry, and BTS/PFT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing standard examinations and procedures in hematology, histology, chemistry, and BTS/PFT.
  • Organize time and resources for the effective conduct of laboratory examinations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Registration with a recognized professional organization (e.g. Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
