Aerospace Design Manager - Mechanical and Physical Engineering

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Aerospace Design Manager to lead our Mechanical and Physical Engineering team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with collaborators, supporting business development, and leading candidate selection and interview processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with collaborators to ensure performance and drive business growth.
  • Support business development for aerospace in North America, identifying opportunities to grow Capgemini's portfolio.
  • Lead candidate selection and interview processes, working closely with Talent Acquisition to forecast hiring needs.
  • Identify business and market trends, implementing action plans to increase profits and performance.
  • Scale team size according to workload, providing employee transitions to new emerging roles.
  • Develop team efficiency, implementing improvements to increase company contribution margins.
  • Lead workload for on-site and offshore team members, ensuring multidisciplinary resources are well-aligned to enhance delivery of projects.
  • Support purchase orders with current and new clients, handling tracking and billing for design and integration teams.
  • Provide coaching, goal setting, and proactive employee project transitions.
Technical Responsibilities:
  • Provide detailed design for details, assemblies, kits, installations, NIEOs, WPICD, PVRs, and other technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with functions such as harness manufacturers, aircraft interiors, methods, stress, systems, and support functions like mass properties and M&P.
  • Client interface and single point of contact for ongoing and new technical work.
  • Review systems layouts, installations, assembly, and detail drawings.
  • Investigate change authorities such as RFCs and PCRs.
  • Lead design changes through organizational change processes.
  • Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
  • Generate and implement cost and weight-saving design change ideas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in Airframe Design/System installation.
  • Knowledge of Composites and Tubing: Metallic and Composite.
  • Strong PLM (CATIA V5, ENOVIA) knowledge background, including the CATIA Composite Module.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aerospace practices, standards, tools, and processes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Experience using Datalink or BDI, ICMS.
