POSITION HIGHLIGHT

We are seeking a dynamic finance professional to take on a pivotal role during a period of significant change and advancement. If you are adept at guiding teams while also enjoying hands-on involvement, your expertise will be highly valued.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance – Financial Reporting, you will play a crucial role in overseeing both internal and external reporting obligations, coordinating the annual audit process, managing monthly financial activities, and delivering exceptional service to stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the consolidation of various business units and legal entities, engaging in special projects focused on internal controls, and enhancing processes. You will be expected to initiate workflow redesigns, identify efficiencies, and leverage innovative technology solutions to improve accounting and reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct the planning and execution of year-end processes, prepare audit schedules, and liaise with external auditors. Support the consolidation of financial results for reporting purposes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data. Assist in drafting financial statements and accompanying notes. Serve as the primary expert on financial reporting and general ledger structure. Contribute to the research and implementation of new accounting standards and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE. Maintain high standards of control to protect confidentiality and ensure proper segregation of duties to mitigate risks. Provide guidance to staff on handling complex reporting transactions. Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new financial systems as necessary. Collaborate with the Director of Finance – Financial Reporting on special projects related to internal controls and process enhancements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business or commerce. Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting. Experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous. Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong focus on deadlines with a proven track record of meeting tight timelines. Familiarity with Canadian GAAP and ASPE reporting standards. Excellent planning and reporting capabilities with sound professional judgment. Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with stakeholders. Proficiency in Digital Financial Systems.
