Brandt is actively looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team at the Vernon Construction & Forestry division. This role is pivotal in ensuring the upkeep and repair of heavy machinery and forestry equipment. The position operates on a unique schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly assess the operational state of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Utilize tools and materials safely and efficiently in the repair process.
  • Employ various instruments, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems effectively.
  • Document all machine details, actions performed, and time spent on work orders accurately.
  • Continuously evaluate service-related hazards to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Utilize computer applications, such as John Deere Service Advisor, for maintenance documentation and diagnostics.
  • Refer to parts catalogs to identify and order necessary components.
  • Conduct road tests on equipment and verify the functionality of attachments as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, service teams, and branch staff.
  • Capacity to meet physical demands, including climbing, lifting, and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Required Experience

  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or a similar recognized trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting and maneuvering.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
