Compensation Administration Supervisor

Overview:
The Payroll Manager plays a crucial role within the Financial Services department, reporting directly to the Director. As part of a diverse team, this position is accountable for overseeing all facets of payroll processing and ensuring accurate reporting both internally and externally. The Payroll Manager is instrumental in developing and refining payroll practices, maintaining precise records of pay entitlements for various employee categories, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the payroll processing cycle, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain and update master pay entitlements for multiple employee groups.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to enhance payroll practices and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to legal regulations and collective agreements in a unionized environment.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Certification as a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) through the Canadian Payroll Association is mandatory.
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance is preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years of progressive management experience in payroll within a unionized healthcare environment is required.
Experience:
- Proficient knowledge of integrated HRIS systems.
- Familiarity with Quadrant software is advantageous.
- Understanding of legal regulations applicable to hospital settings, including the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and CRA.
Essential Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll theories, concepts, and practices, with the ability to apply them in complex situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address intricate issues and propose effective solutions.
- Results-driven approach with the ability to work independently and achieve quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on conflict resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: Competitive salary range of $100,000–$110,000 annually.
