Position Overview

As a Thermal Insulation Technician at Ajitt Mechanical Insulation Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of various systems through effective insulation techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain the necessary work requirements.
  • Insulation Selection: Determine the appropriate type of insulation needed for different applications.
  • Apprentice Guidance: Provide instruction and mentorship to apprentices in the field.
  • Material Preparation: Measure and cut insulating materials to precise shapes and dimensions using both hand and power tools.
  • Application Techniques: Apply and secure insulation using various methods such as spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, and taping.
  • Fitting Insulation: Fit insulation around obstacles and between structural elements like joists and studs.
  • Installation of Barriers: Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials as required.
  • Waterproofing: Brush waterproofing cement or similar materials over insulation to enhance durability.
  • Fabrication: Create and apply removable insulation pads and covers.
  • Hazardous Material Removal: Safely remove asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead, and mould from buildings.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Physically demanding tasks requiring strength and stamina.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Manual dexterity is essential.
  • Overtime may be necessary based on project demands.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a similar role.
  • Employment Type: Permanent position.
  • Language of Work: English.
  • Work Hours: 32 hours per week.
