About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Borgata Event Centre by Avani. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our culinary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, ensuring that all materials are properly labeled and organized.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Food Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, and assist with food preparation as needed.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Sharpen kitchen knives and assist with minor maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 30 hours per week, with a permanent employment contract.
