Estimating Student Position

PCL Construction is seeking an Estimating Student to join our team in Oakville, Ontario. As an Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by understanding and utilizing PCL's estimating manuals, systems, and forms. You will review quantity survey assignments with lead estimators or Chief Estimators, perform assigned quantity surveys, and give quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing.
You will also transfer quantities to lead estimators, perform general subtrade solicitation duties, bid document control, and perform bid day assignments. Additionally, you will visit job sites periodically, develop relationships with subcontractors, and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator or lead estimator.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset. You will apply various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
