Your Opportunity at Arc'teryx

As a Design Developer 2 – Veilance, you will play a crucial role in bringing innovative product concepts to life. You are a skilled and passionate builder who thrives on finding creative solutions and collaborating with designers to develop cutting-edge apparel.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design process by developing unique and resolved garment solutions through sketching, patterning, and prototyping. Ensure alignment with Arc'teryx design philosophies and product vision.
  • Produce production-ready garments and supporting documentation to ensure scalable construction in a manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, pattern makers, and product developers to create, document, and communicate new concepts, construction processes, techniques, and manufacturing solutions that meet Arc'teryx product ideals.
  • Build partial or complete concept prototypes to allow for testing, review, and validation of design solutions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of design standards across all styles within the Veilance line plan, working with pattern making, product development, and fit & pattern teams.
  • Evaluate various materials to assess their suitability for different construction techniques and end uses. Provide recommendations on final material selection and document findings throughout the process.
  • Support the creation of field and wear test samples by providing direction and requests to the cutting team.
  • Assist the sample and design teams in resolving any issues that arise during the development process.
  • Contribute to the onboarding and training of new hires and team members.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a technical design environment.
  • A diploma or degree in Fashion Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong sewing skills and knowledge of garment construction techniques.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
