About the FacilityThe Licensed Group Home is a 24/7 care facility that provides guidance, support, and supervision for individuals with Cognitive, Mental, and Physical Disabilities. As a Personal Care Worker, you will be part of a team that works together to plan, organize, and supervise daily activities, recreational, and other services.
Responsibilities- Support and supervise individuals with physical disabilities
- Use a team approach to plan, organize, and supervise daily activities, recreational, and other services
- Prepare and serve meals as planned
- Assess needs of residents on an ongoing basis
- Maintain sanitation of Group Home
- Work 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Grade 12; combination of education and experience may be considered
- Continuing Care Aide Certificate, Personal Care Worker Certificate, or Home Health Aide certificate required
- Certified First Aid & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with the Group home team, and demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Previous home care or childcare experience is an asset
- Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License
A current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Screening, and Driver's Abstract is required upon hire. Lac La Ronge Indian Band gives preference to Aboriginal people who possess the requisite skill sets and experience.
