Position Overview
The Treasury Operations Manager will oversee the organization's treasury management functions as outlined below. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, capable of working autonomously in a dynamic environment, possessing excellent communication skills, and willing to challenge existing practices to enhance current operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financing:
- Track capital markets and provide insights on market opportunities.
- Monitor the organization's outstanding debt and its performance in secondary markets.
- Assist the treasury director in navigating capital markets, including common shares, preferred shares, debt, and hybrid issuances.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory filings related to treasury activities.
Bank Relationships:
- Maintain and nurture relationships with banking institutions for credit and banking arrangements.
- Evaluate bank syndication performance against benchmarks.
Cash Management:
- Prepare consolidated cash flow forecasts for the organization, collaborating with various business units to assess cash requirements and availability.
- Manage liquidity, special transactions, foreign currency requirements, and intercompany loans.
- Oversee letters of credit and credit facilities, monitor compliance with covenants, and prepare quarterly compliance reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor currency policy and exposure.
- Conduct M&A accretion analysis.
- Lead analyses on WACC, intrinsic value, and share buyback strategies.
- Formulate strategies to minimize treasury-related expenses.
- Support reporting and Investor Relations teams in public disclosures concerning treasury matters.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Treasury management.
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets and treasury operations, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.
- Exceptional team management and leadership capabilities.
- Strong presentation skills and experience interacting with senior leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with public company reporting.
- Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec due to regular interactions with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
