In the capacity of Director of Health Services, you will steer the strategic direction of the health sector across Western Canada, becoming an integral part of a distinguished global healthcare design practice. The ideal candidate will possess the ambition, expertise, and charm necessary to secure new projects, manage health initiatives, and enhance the esteemed reputation of our Health Team in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Health Sector Objectives:
- Collaborate closely with both global sector and local office leadership to ensure the health sector meets the business goals from local, regional, and national perspectives.
- Assist in formulating annual strategic health market sector plans, including budgets and initiatives for all of Western Canada.
- Track marketing progress, performance metrics, report accuracy, and manage budgets and risks effectively.
- Work in partnership with global market sector leaders to devise and implement marketing strategies.
- Develop Local Health Sector Team:
- In collaboration with operational leadership, cultivate a balanced, multi-disciplinary team; evaluate staffing capabilities; recruit and nurture expertise to maintain a top-tier health practice.
- Foster Client Relationships:
- Establish robust client relationships and act as a primary client relationship manager on projects.
- Exhibit Local Leadership:
- Engage as a health thought leader in professional organizations and activities that promote the firm's brand and vision.
- Value mentorship and build meaningful connections with colleagues.
- Promote and Represent the Firm:
- Enhance community awareness of the firm's health practice on local, regional, and national levels.
- Participate in and present at various conferences.
- Act as an ambassador for our Health practice at networking events.
- Business Development and Marketing:
- Implement necessary pre-marketing and positioning strategies for success.
- Support sector, regional, and local leaders in organizing pursuit efforts.
- Coordinate with global health and operational leadership on business development and marketing initiatives.
- Identify and develop business leads, creating effective plans to convert leads into successful projects.
- Lead strategic project pursuit teams and manage processes while adhering to quality standards.
- Collaborate with local operational leadership to enhance teamwork and maximize the effectiveness of all business development efforts.
- Proposal Development:
- Oversee the analysis of requests for proposals (RFP) and lead the creation of proposal responses.
- Craft and finalize proposals, ensuring timely completion with contributions from all involved parties.
- Interviews and Presentations:
- Direct the development of interview strategies and team preparations for successful presentations.
- Global Collaboration:
- Work alongside HDR leaders and marketing professionals to build relationships and secure projects.
- Project Delivery:
- Serve as a Principal in Charge (PIC) for key healthcare clients, ensuring strong client relationships and project performance.
- Engage in marketing, contractual, and design meetings to establish client relations.
- Facilitate work sessions for deliverable development with staff and client stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Architect with relevant professional associations.
- 15 years of experience in the A/E/C industry, including at least two years in management.
- Knowledge of the local and regional health market.
- Forward-thinking with a strategic mindset.
- Proven experience in developing and executing targeted market strategies.
- Ability to lead a health team and deliver client presentations.
- Business development experience in the health design sector.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
- Maintain professional registration.
- Experience in developing and managing strategic marketing programs.
- Experience in managing client relationships and project pursuits.
- Experience in staff development, including recruitment and career growth.
- Active involvement with industry associations and a visible market presence.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various directors and managers.
