The OpportunityWe are seeking an Evaluation and Analytics Specialist to join our Quality and Standards unit at the School of Medicine. This role will provide strategic leadership in designing, implementing, and continuously improving comprehensive evaluation and analytics processes for Undergraduate Medical Education and Postgraduate Medical Education programs.
The successful candidate will lead the evaluation of all learning activities, coordinate surveys and focus groups, and utilize mixed-method evaluation techniques to assess and enhance program quality. They will collaborate with clinical faculty, directors, and staff to ensure that program learning outcomes align with best educational practices and standards.
The Evaluation and Analytics Specialist will analyze data and disseminate findings to stakeholders, supporting evidence-based decision-making and process improvements. They will also drive special evaluation projects, develop tools for data management and visualization, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with accreditation standards.
Qualifications- Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Data Analytics, or related field with a strong emphasis on research methods and data analysis.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in program evaluation development and implementation in a post-secondary setting, with direct experience in program evaluation activities in higher education or in medical education or a related health degree program.
- Leadership experience advising and consulting with senior academic leaders, faculty, and staff on evaluation practices, methodologies, and research to influence decision-making and enhance program quality.
- Experience in processes of survey methodology and data visualization.
- Relevant evaluation expertise developed through work experience in the university sector as an educator and, ideally, as an administrator, academic consultant or researcher.
- In-depth understanding of principles, practices, and procedures of research and evaluation practices.
- Knowledge of and understanding of the implementation of competency-based education.
- Proven skills in data analysis, including the ability to communicate ideas clearly both verbally and in written reports; strong understanding and success in working with large data sets.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in consulting with university academic leadership and clinical faculty members to evaluate needs, advise actions, recommend activities, and build consensus.
- Proven ability and major achievements in program evaluation, demonstrated by high-quality and substantial record, including design, development, and implementation of program evaluation activities in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evaluation tools, research, and literature.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent conflict mediation skills.
- A strong commitment to the principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility & Reconciliation/Decolonization/Indigenous Resurgence (EDIA-RDIR) in medical education.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
