About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested in accordance with departmental standards and techniques.
  • Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions using non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in adult congenital heart disease, TEE, dobutamine stress echo, exercise stress echo, and research echo.
  • Operate and maintain Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations, as well as General Electric Vivid E95 equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Sonography Canada certification.
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

  • A market adjustment of approximately $369.23 biweekly.
