We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Lead to join our team at BMO Financial Group. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for driving the overall software development lifecycle, collaborating with functional teams to transform requirements into features, managing development teams, and conducting software testing and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Translate user requirements into technical specifications by understanding and facilitating technical requirements.
- Analyze, develop, test, and implement new software programs, documenting the entire software development lifecycle.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of systems and core software components.
- Ensure that code/configurations adhere to security, logging, error handling, and performance standards.
- Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system and assess associated impacts.
- Follow release management processes and apply version controls.
- Assist in interpreting and documenting client requirements.
- Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
- Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
- Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Work independently and regularly handle non-routine situations.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in software development and a proven track record of leading development teams. The ideal candidate will have:
- Foundational level of proficiency in creative thinking, building and managing relationships, and emotional agility.
- Intermediate level of proficiency in quality assurance and testing, cloud computing, microservices, technology business requirements definition, analysis, and mapping, adaptability, learning agility, verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and team skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision making.
- Advanced level of proficiency in programming, applications integration, test-driven development, system development lifecycle, troubleshooting, and system and technology integration.
We offer a competitive salary range of $74,000 to $138,600 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
