Job Summary

We are seeking a Funeral Services Coordinator to join our team at Sutton's Campbell River Funeral Home. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for assisting with funeral home and cremation-related duties, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation for services, including delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families.
  • Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance as directed.
  • Assist with the preparation of remains of deceased, including dressing and lifting deceased, or operation of crematory, as permitted by law and in keeping with company regulations.
  • Perform office duties, such as answering phones, operating fax machines, computers, multiline phone systems, debit card machines, postage meters, and stereo/video systems.
  • Run errands, such as floral delivery, picking up supplies, and documents.
  • Serve as an usher and may park cars or perform some transportation requirements.
  • Drive Funeral Home vehicles for services and picking up families.
  • Ensure refreshments are available (where allowed by law).
  • Greet and receive client families and other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
  • Accommodate the needs of the family during a service and/or visitation.
  • May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Knowledge of computers and some software would be an asset.
  • High level of compassion and integrity.
  • Good communication skills.

Pay

$17.4 - $21/hr
