Qualifications:

  • Completion of High School or equivalent education.
  • Alberta Certificate of Qualification or Interprovincial Ticket as a Mechanic – Heavy Equipment Technician (preferred).
  • At least three years of experience in the role of Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • Completion of the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) or the ability to obtain it within three months.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License (Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement preferred).
  • Experience in maintaining highway maintenance and snow removal machinery.
  • Familiarity with the Motor Vehicle Act and related regulations.
  • Capability to work in diverse conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on company vehicles and machinery.
  • Deliver exceptional service to colleagues, clients, and the public.
  • Guide and mentor apprentices and junior staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept in good condition.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.
