Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interactive Editor to join our digital storytelling team on an 18-month contract. This role will play a key part in shaping the future of our digital content, working closely with reporters, editors, and visual journalists to create immersive, interactive experiences that captivate our audience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement interactive story plans, incorporating code, data, and multimedia elements
  • Collaborate with the team to design and build templates and tools for various digital story formats
  • Work with data to create interactive visuals that work across all platforms
  • Act as an ambassador for digital storytelling within the newsroom, promoting best practices and innovation

Requirements

  • Experience working with Svelte, Node, or AWS services
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Strong design sense, particularly in delivering content to mobile readers
  • Ability to work with data to create interactive visuals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
