Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Design Lead to join our team. As a key member of our permanent design group, you will be responsible for leading and managing the structural engineering scope of work for permanent works design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform engineering design tasks, including the production of bridge plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with CADD and construction estimating teams to develop plans, specifications, and estimates for preliminary and final design of bridges, walls, industrial structures, marine structures, and other minor structures.
  • Lead and mentor other staff members to ensure the technical output of the structural scope meets the quality, budget, and schedule expected on the project.
  • Understand technical requirements of projects, identify technical risks, and implement engineering principles to develop solutions.
  • Participate in technical meetings and discussions to strategize solutions to complex or unique technical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in relevant structural/bridge engineering design.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in at least one province/state, with the ability to obtain registration in the Province of British Columbia.
  • Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles.
  • Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, wall systems, and other local structures.
  • Experience with Design-Build or other alternative delivery methods, preferred.
